As Congress decides whether to keep clean energy tax credits, a new video highlights how they helped bring solar power to a Southwest Florida school.
Manatee School for the Arts, a public charter school in Palmetto, used such a tax credit to help reduce the costs of installing solar panels. House Republicans are debating whether to keep the tax credits, which were created under the Inflation Reduction Act, as part of their budget plan.
Officials with the school discuss the value of the credits in the video below, produced by the Environmental Defense Fund with the school.
For students at Manatee School for the Arts, clean energy at the charter school means more than lower bills—it means better classrooms, improved education programs and a brighter future on campus. And it’s all possible thanks to incentives that are part of the clean energy plan. pic.twitter.com/bD2dfltG4q
